Abstract

The freshwater shrimp Macrobrachium nipponense, which is an accidental introduction, inhabits the waters of Uzbekistan. It has now successfully acclimatized and become a vital component of our aquatic ecosystems. However, the species remains understudied and is not used for breeding in our republic.
